Ogre Size Comparison, Orc Veterans, and Bael WIP

It has been a while since I posted anything so I thought I would put up three updates I got last week.

First up is a WIP shot from Ian of the Pig-Faced Orc Veterans I.  These guys are meant to be a little more heavily armored than their Orc Warrior counter parts.  And no the second one from the left is not a ninja his helmet just isn't finished.

The second picture just shows the Ogre size and bulk as compared to a standard orc.  This guy is going to end up coming with two heads, three right hand, and three left hand options.

Lastly, Pedro has sent a WIP of Bael.  I believe he will stand about 42mm tall but I would have to check to make sure that is right.

And even more orcs......

Pig-Faced Orc Warriors II are nearing completion.

And here is the first look at the Pig-Faced Orc Veterans I.  These guys are supposed to be more heavily armored than your average orc.  Some of them will have heavier looking helmets and all of them have the thigh guards.

Updated Pig-Faced Orcs

Just a quick update on the Pig-Faced Orcs.

Pig-Faced Orc Warriors I:  Ian has added the slotta tabs, cut the scimitar (and hand) off of pose 1 in preparation for his new scimitar, and pose 4 has his flail in place and is just waiting for a new hand.

Pig-Faced Orc Warriors II:  Coming along nicely.  It is interesting to see the progress from blank to a more finished product.  Doing things this way saves me around 50% of the cost of each miniature.  With plans for 14 sets of orcs using these blanks it will save a lot of money for other miniatures.  I have commissioned Ian for a fifth blank to add a little more variety in future releases and I am considering having him do a sixth blank.

More Orcs

Just wanted to post up some very work in progress pics of Pig-Faced Orc Warriors II.  Interesting to see how Ian works from a blank to a finished miniature.

From left to right the polearms are Spetum, Voulge, Glaive, and Fauchard-Fork.  I am planning on doing another set of polearmed orcs that will have a completely different set of weapons.

Pig-Faced Orc Warriors I

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season.  Things slowed down over the holidays but work is progressing on the first four sets of orcs.  Here are some pictures of Pig-Faced Orc Warriors I.

Figure 1

Figure 2

This figure will be armed with a two headed flail.

Figure 3

Figure four is having his scimitar redone to look a little more sinister.  As soon as he is updated I will post a picture.

Orcs and the Start of an Ogre

Just got some early WIP pics from Ian and thought I would share.  First up is the beginning of the Ogre.

Ogre

This guy is going to have two separate heads, three right hand options, and three left hand options.  So you can make 18 different variations of this model.  I am planning on doing 3-4 different Ogres plus a Chieftain.

And then some greens of three of four orcs from the first set of Orcs.

Pig-Faced Orcs Greens and Test Piece

These are the beginning of a large series of Pig-Faced Orcs that will include various orc warriors, subchieftains, chieftains, tribal packs, mounted warriors, player characters, and zombies (yes I am talking about zombified Pig-Faced Orcs).  These have all been sculpted by Ian Mountain.

Test Piece

This is the first miniature I had sculpted by Ian as a test piece to see what the basic look of a Pig-Faced Orc was going to be.  We have changed a few things.  As can be seen by the head greens posted below the basic look of the face has changed slightly and we have decided that all future Orc releases will be barefoot with clawed toes as well as having ratty and torn pants.

Head Greens

Body Greens

These are the four basic poses that will be used for orc warriors, orc veterans, orc zombies, as well as some other various orcs.  I am planning on using these blanks for Hobgoblins and Ghouls too (with different heads though).
